Toddle Along Tuesday...Scooter

Last year for Christmas Santa brought Eyan this awesome 3 in 1 Vtech Zebra toy.  He plays and has played with this toy since he opened it a year ago!  The best part about it is that it continues to change to meet his growing little body!

We did a lot of toddling this past week when we were teaching him how to use it as a scooter, he still hasn't quite figured it out, but he sure does like this toy regardless!

Now all I have to do is Push!

Maybe if I just stand on it, it will move?

Ehhh...not moving

Family Pictures!

I had a wonderful friend offer to take our family photos this year as she is starting her photography business.

We of course obliged an are just in love with the way that they turned out.  It was a bright, but brisk morning last weekend and boy was our little ninja a little less than cooperative, but Rachel did an awesome job with him and managed to at least get him to look at the camera.

If you are in the Colorado area and are in need of some family photographs please comment below and I will get you in touch with Rachel.  Her pricing is very affordable and the picture quality is awesome!  I made her leave the angel orbs in, but she can take them out.  You already know how I feel about those orbs :)

He loved this tire swing

All by himself!

Love the old barns and Eyans dirty booty!
My hair looks pretty blonde here, but I like this one

One of my Favorites!

Seriously LOVE this!

Kicked back country style!

Lovin the pumpkins

Ninja was not happy about the pictures but he was interested.

I got a Button!

So grab it!

I finally made a button.  It is not near as fancy as those that many of my favorite blog ladies have, but let me tell you, I made it and I am proud!

Here is my lovely button!

It definitely needs some work, but I made a good attempt at making one.

Have a great Sunday!

Remember last week when I wrote about Eyan's new shoes?

Well I guess I took a video about his shoes that is both cute and kinda funny at the end.

Enjoy!

Do you believe in Angels?

As of late many people have died around us.  In the last 3 years I have lost 10 people.  Death has just become part of our lives and that is a sad fact.  I desperately miss those I have lost and my husbands family has been terrorized with death like you don't even understand.  I have to have faith that those that have passed on are still around us and still listening.  I know for a fact that Jason's mom is around us. Take for example my son who has never met his grandma because she died 10 days before we found out about Eyan.  He grabbed her photo the other day and said "grandma" like he knows her.  He also used to just zone out looking up very weird like when he was an infant and then smile and coo.  I pray every night and talk to Jason's mom in my prayers.  I ask her to look over Eyan and to visit him in his dreams so he knows what an awesome woman she is and that she loves him dearly.

Well this is leading into an interesting phenomena I have heard of several times.  Many people have told me that when those little orbs show up in pictures they are our guardian angels.  This is a pretty awesome one I found online.

Well I had a little angel show up in a photo I took the other day.  My neighbor who is 6 months pregnant, her son who is 2 and suffers from epilepsy and my little man were sitting watching TV and I just snapped a photo.  Check out the GIANT orb angel surrounding them.  It was very comforting to both myself and the neighbor-lady to know that someone is watching over us!

Versatile Blogger Award!

I was so excited to be honored with the award of "Versatile Blogger" From my friend Censie over at Building Our Story!  Thank you SO much Censie, it is my very 1st blogger award!

So here are the "rules to accepting the award":
• Tell 7 things about myself
• Pass the award along to 15 bloggers that I feel are deserving

1. I grew up in a roller skating rink and have been skating since I was 18 months old.  (Eyan started at 4 months!)
2. I played roller derby with the Denver Roller Dolls both on a home team and their all star travel teams for 4 years!  I was their youngest recruit when I started at 21 and "retired" at 25.  I loved it and I miss it a ton.
3.  My roller derby name is "Toxic T" and I was number 15 for my birthday
4. I teach science but for the life of me I cannot dissect an animal.  Those days when we are in dissections, I am a complete disaster because I feel terrible for those little creatures that died.
5. I do not eat cooked fruit.  No jelly, no pies, no weird textured foods...YUCK!
6.   I have been with my husband since I was 16...that is INSANE.  I still love him though
7. My husband and I agree that we love Eyan more than anyone else in the entire world.

I do not really read a whole lot of blogs, I just read a few because I unfortunately do not have the time to keep up with all of the amazing writers out there.  So I only have 5 blogs right now...Here are my choices:

Saturdays Top 5 Laughs: Blog Hop

Today I am linking up with The Mommyhood Chronicles for a super fun blog hop!

These are my top 5 laughs for this week!

1. I am a teacher...a high school teacher...a biology high school teacher.  We are learning about  body systems this week.  I got the amazing pleasure of trying to explain hermaphrodites to 9th graders.  One of my awesome students who apparently has no filter decided to correct me and tell me that if they have both parts its called a pagina (Pah-jin-a).  I lost it and couldn't stop laughing.  Oh 9th graders.

2. Eyan was blessed with about 1000 gifts for his 1st birthday in April.  We have slowly been bringing some of them out so that he never gets bored.  Well we finally brought out the Playskool Busy Ball Popper (pictured below).  Our little ninja decided that he would just continue to hit the balls all around and could not stop laughing at how they just kept bouncing back to him.  Although the toy is annoying, he loves it...whatever makes him happy!

3. My cute pups both had to go to the vet for routine check ups last Sunday.  My husband works graveyards and although he told me to wake him up so he could assist me in taking both 60+lb dogs to the vet.  I just couldn't wake the sleeping beauty cause he had only been sleeping for 1.5 hours after an 8 hour shift.  So I loaded the dogs and the baby up in my truck and headed to PetSmart!  We got to the store, my dogs are notorious for trying to escape out of the vehicle, so I got in the backseat and got my Moby Wrap out and strapped my 19 month old to me.  Then I quickly jumped out of the Tahoe and ran to the back hatch to get the dogs.  I barely opened the hatch and grabbed the leashes then opened the back hatch even more, so the dogs could jump out.  Little did I know they had tangled their leashes up all over the back seat.  So there I was in the cold with an gigantic baby hanging from me and two dogs tangled on my truck trying to escape.  All I could do was laugh.  A nice gentleman came to my rescue and Mia and Lily made it to the vet safe and sound!

4.   This one is more of an embarrassing moment, but what the heck.  I totally peed my pants on Wednesday.  Yes, even if you have a C-Section, I think as long as you had hell pushing for 2 hours and an episiotomy, I am assuming the bladder control is crap for all.  Apparently I did not empty my bladder all the way and I peed my pants a little when I started laughing.  Damn you pelvic muscles, I guess its back to the kegals I go.

5.  Last night my hubby and I decided we were going to use our Dish to rent Bridesmaids.  Jason had never seen it, so I thought both of us could use some hysterical laughs (pee free of course!)  Little did we know that you had to have a phone line attached to the dish to use it so my hubby watched the entire movie in a 3.5 hour period with several pauses as the movie "buffered!"  I totally fell asleep, but I was impressed that he was committed to that movie.

What funny things happened to you this week?

Boo at the ZOO!

Doesn't this look fun?  Well it should because it was!  Last year Jason and I purchased a zoo membership to the Denver Zoo!

It has been well worth the $70.00 we spent for the entire year.  The Denver Zoo hosts many special events each year.  One of them is "Boo at the Zoo!"

Basically you dress up and trick or treat at the zoo!  We invited my cousin and my sister and her family to go with us this year!  We got tons of candy and enjoyed time as a family all while "hanging" out with the animals.  The picture above is a black bear just hanging in a tree.

I know it is a few weeks late, but here are some pictures from our day Booing at the Zoo!

Kidvantage?!?!?!

Recently I ran into my second cousin and his wife.  They have 5 boys all very close in age!  Oh my gosh could you even imagine.  I am surviving with one, mouthy, rowdy, silly, terrorizing boy.  Ok, anyway, we ran into each other at a department store where Jason and I were looking for shoes for Eyan...again.  This little boy goes through shoes and clothes like crazy!  We have been so entirely blessed to not really have to purchase any clothes for Eyan.  Friends and family have bought him TONS of clothes and on top of that hand-me-downs have been a super duper blessing.  Shoes on the other hand are being purchased like every 3-5 weeks because this boys foot keeps growing.

So my awesome cousins let me in on an awesome store program!  Sears has a program they call "KidVantage."  Basically if a kid is hard on clothes and shoes, you can return them to Sears and get the exact same item in the same size, no questions asked!  I think that is pretty awesome, especially as Eyan continues to become more destructive.  Also, one of the employees enlightened us to the fact that you can return them if your kid grows out of them and get a brand new pair for a future child (hopefully of the same sex!)

Hey I am a bargain shopper so I am totally all about getting more for my money!  Anyway, Jason, Eyan and I went to Sears and found a great pair of shoes for him.  Check out my monster in his new "Kidvantage" shoes!

Fix It

In my house all Eyan wants to do is "Fic it."  Toddler translation; he loves to fix things!  Naturally a good toy tool set has helped with this, but sometimes he reverts to more toddler-esque ways to hone his boyish skills!

Check out my skills
So serious
So silly...toddler tantrum at its finest
Ehhh...He was over it just like that, back to work
Focus
No seriously mom...I am "Ficing" it
Love this little boy!  I can't wait till he actually starts fixing things with his daddy and his papa!

BLOG HOP

Hello Readers!

Today I have decided to try a fancy "blog hop."  What is a "blog hop" you ask.  It is basically a way for me to visit other peoples blogs and invite them to visit mine.  If you are new to my FUNKY blog, welcome and thank you for reading!

Today I am linking up with The Mama Pirate Feeling Beachie for a Friday...err "Saturday" Fill In!

The basics of this is that you are given four questions with blanks and you need to fill them in with your answers.  With further au-du, here are the questions with my answers:

1. My first car was a ______________.
2. I find a ___________ very relaxing.
3. Red ___________ makes me think of _____________.
4. Next year _____________will ________________.
  1. My first car was a 1972 Buick Skylark.  It was fully restored and beautiful and FAST!  Although I was one of the only kids in high school driving a classic car, I loved that car and I still miss ol "Big Red."
  2. I find a beer very relaxing. It could be the alcohol or it could just be that when I am drinking it, I am usually laughing and enjoying time with friends.  Regardless,  I rarely drink, but when I do, I love my Bud Light.
  3. Red candy makes me think of Twizzlers.  Ok I sort of sucked at this one, but my mom LOVES those pull and peel twizzlers and we ate an awful lot of them growing up.
  4. Next year, hopefully I will be renewed for year 2 at my new school.  I really like my new school as far as how relaxed the atmosphere is and how much time I have to actually get work done at work so I can spend home time with my family.
Hope you link up!

A Diaper Review

Anyone else getting bombarded with the Huggies Slip On Diapers coupons?  You know the ones for $3.00 off that are supposed to help with your "squirmy" toddler?

Well I totally am, and I totally love coupons, so I totally tried them...

Pros:
-They are the same consistency as regular Huggies
-The side bands are soft
-They really are easy to get a "squirmy" toddler in
-The designs are pretty darn cute
-The diapers are easy to change if baby goes #2 because the sides velcro

Cons:
-If your baby has a smaller booty go one size down...they slip off
-If your baby has allergies...these might not be a great idea.  Eyans poor booty broke out like crazy!

With the "Slip Off" comment, here are some pretty hysterical pictures of my kiddo wearing the "Slip-On" diapers, which you cannot see because they are "Slipping-Off."

AHAHAHAHA seriously so funny, I couldn't hardly keep the camera still :)

Thankful Thursdays...SNOW

A few weeks back, we got hit with some SUPER awesome snow while we were up in the mountains visiting my family.  So thankful Thursday should start off with some things I am thankful for!

1. I am thankful for the snow.  I think there is something serene and beautiful about it.  I feel like it symbolizes all things pure and represents a time in my life that is always filled with family and happy memories.  So it is no surprise that my little Ninja LOVES the snow too!

2. I am thankful for our awesome family!  Eyan is lucky enough to have 2nd cousins that are around his age so it was great that he could enjoy the snow with his cousins.

3.  I am thankful for our 4 wheelers...Eyan loves to ride them, he loves the sound and he is 100% boy when we are riding.

Getting ready to go outside!

All dressed and ready to go

4-wheeling!

Eyan and his cousins in the snow

Snowballs

Really Really big snowball

My adorable cousin getting a little taste of that snow

So that is what I am thankful for...what are you thankful for this Thursday?
