I have spoke before about how terrible sleep is in our house. Jason has never been a good sleeper in my experience. Literally he could not sleep anywhere but his own bed and if we traveled and stayed in a hotel is was pure torture. Light bothers him, noise bothers him, temperature bothers him, the feel of the sheets and who knows what else will drive Jason nuts when he is sleeping. Now lets throw in crazy sleeping schedules where some weeks he works graveyards and I am home with the kids and it pretty much is awful for him. We have done our best to “black out” our bedroom and make it as quiet as can be, but with 2 little kids running around, that is not enough.
I was elated when I was chosen to review the Bedtime Bliss sleep mask and ear plugs and when I told Jason he was pretty excited too! When they arrived Jason immediately took them upstairs and went to sleep. What was great about this, is that he said he slept great. He told me that there was absolutely no light through the sleep mask and that the ear plugs helped to drown out the kids. He also said that the sleep mask was easy to sleep in and hardly noticeable.
But being the skeptic I am, I had to try it out myself…
…to my surprise, the husband was correct. The sleep mask was completely comfortable and I could even blink with them on without any pressure to my eyes, while it still maintained a completely blacked out experience. The earplugs were your typical ear plugs, which I did not find to be all that different or amazing. They were comfortable and easy to sleep in as well and they muffled sounds (particularly of Jason’s awful snoring), but nothing too spectacular about them.
The sleep mask and earplugs came with a small carrying case which I particularly liked. Everything fit into it and even though it seemed a bit smooshed, it came out of the case and perked right up. I am big on “everything having a place” and keeping everything that belongs together, together so this carrying case made this OCD lady pretty happy!
Overall, the Bedtime Bliss sleep mask and earplug combo is great and I recommend it if you too are needing a great nights rest.
