#imENOUGH #Sponsored

As a full-time working mom, wife, blogger, craft-master, renovator, extreme cleaner and overall insanely crazy busy woman, it is extremely difficult to feel like I am doing everything to my full potential or that #imENOUGH.  I have thoroughly enjoyed these last 8 weeks of summer and am so sad that in 2 weeks I will be headed back to work full-time.  I am also anxious because last school year was NOT my strongest year, and I definitely felt like I was just not meeting my own expectations.

All of this self-doubt is no good for oneself and is definitely not the way to start a new challenging school year.  I have a lot on my plate this year for work.  I am our budget rep, as well as our department rep on another committee, I am teaching a new class subject that I have never taught, I am starting my masters program (EEEK) and I am going to continue working to flip my classroom.  Work will be a challenge and I am scared out of my mind that I will not be as amazing as I am hoping to be, however, I know that I AM ENOUGH!  I am willing to put in the effort and work to get the results, I want to do well and I want my students to succeed.  As a teacher we should be measured by our drive to do and be the best for our students.  We are ENOUGH as long as we continue to try.

Take my work plans and then add to those my family life and my blogger life and you can easily start to see why I struggle sometimes to feel like I am doing a fantastic job.  Sometimes I am stretched so thin that I can hardly focus and keep it together, and sometimes I am floating on cloud 9 just rocking through life.  It is important for me to refocus even during the good times and remind myself that I truly am ENOUGH and that I am needed and am doing the best job that I possibly can.  The decisions that I make are made in the best interest of my family, my students and myself and that is ENOUGH.

I am elated to be partnering with The Mrs. band to help debut their song "Enough."  This song is perfectly written to encourage ALL women that they are enough.  The lyrics in this song are just the message I need to hear as I head into another year of teaching with even more on my plate then before.  I make a difference daily, I continue to try and to do what I do for my family, my students and myself and that is something to be very proud of.

(If the video above does not work, click on THIS LINK, it is worth your time!)

The Mrs. will be releasing their debut EP this fall. Although the music may sound like what’s being played on pop radio right now, the lyrics tell a different story. As women in their late thirties/early forties, songs about teenage heartbreak and wild nights clubbing weren’t things they could relate to. They decided to write about their own lives - like the challenge of juggling a career, marriage, motherhood and friendships, while still trying to maintain their own identity. They set out to foster a connection through their music with other women at the same place in their lives. The Mrs. is comprised of drummer Andra Liemandt, lead vocalists/guitarists Mandy Prater and Jennifer Zavaleta, vocalist/keyboardist Larissa Ness, and bassist Jenny Mason.

I love the idea of the selfie in the mirror featured in The Mrs. video.  I loved how the ladies perspectives changed and how they truly realized that they are ENOUGH!  I can't even begin to tell you how many times I have looked in the mirror and felt like I was just worthless; like everything that I touched turned to crap and that I was just not living up to everyone's expectations.  I wish that my family and friends could send me a special message like the people in the video did.  However, I know that my kids are happy and loved, my husband is too.  I know that I change lives daily in my classroom because students are enjoying learning.  I know that I am doing the best that I can and I know that I AM ENOUGH!

I invite you to share your stories about how you know that you are enough.  You REALLY are!

Today’s post is sponsored by The Mrs. All opinions are my own and my opinion is that I’m Enough!

  1. I am enough. Thank you for such an inspirational video! What a sweet thing. I just love it. Sometimes we denigrate ourselves and feel that we aren't good enough, but we are women, we are strong, we are beautiful...and I am too. Thank you, Laura. Beautiful post!! And good luck to you!! What a woman you are!! I shared the video on facebook. So inspiring!

  2. I am enough. I think being able to be strong and face so many obstacles in my life makes me enough. Even if I have a soft tummy and sometimes I don't always think what about I'm about to say through. I am enough. thank you so much for this post simply beautiful!

  3. Love your picture Laura! I was just thinking about this yesterday when we were at the pool with my family. I was looking around at everyone and though, you know, I'm enough, just like everyone else here. I'm just what and who my kids need just like that Mom is over there. So important to realize. You are definitely enough! Good luck on your Masters crazy lady.
