Spring Time Fun!

The weather has been relatively nice over this past week.  Thankfully I was also on spring break from work (much needed)!

Emmi has been in our backyard but was no where near mobile or interested in anything.  However, the other day, she was SUPER interested in everything we were doing.  Enjoy the photo dump!

She really loved the slide, although these pictures hardly show that.

What is some backyard fun without bubbles!

And him!  I love him, and he loves all things boy...this 4 wheeler might be more loved than I am.
I just love his face.
And hers!
So tell me, how has your spring time fun been going?

My Kids are Dirty

Let me just tell you, lately these two are just a lot of silly trouble.  Gross, dirty, silly trouble and this OCD mama is really struggling to keep them clean. (Note:  I say this all in fun so smile folks).

Emmi is OBSESSED with the shoe basket.  Literally if I am not chasing her away from the stairs I am digging her out of these shoes.  Gah shoes just gross me out...bacteria infested nasty things (that would be the science teacher in me). However, my little girly girl is fully enthralled in these nasty dirty things.

Eyan just about killed me the other day when he showed me his filthy hands from "working on daddy's 4-wheeler."  This picture hardly does justice, these were so gross and dirty and he was beyond proud.  I had to drag him to the sink and he just rinsed his hands and would not use soap.

It is a good darn thing these kids are cute, because this dirt is killing me.

Have a happy Thursday!

Squishy Cheeks {Review & Giveaway!}

I have been searching feverishly for just the right bloomers to go with Emberlynn's vintage milestone photos. When I came across Baby Squishy Cheeks store on Etsy I instantly fell in love and KNEW I had to purchase these and share this awesome lady and her store with the world!

First off Lauren is amazing and so easy to work with.  With Emberlynn being so small, I just sent her diaper size right over and Lauren quickly responded to my message with the size I should order (3-6 months hahahaha).  Let's face it I had tons of questions and Lauren was ALWAYS quick to respond and so sweet too!

So let's get to these bloomers!!!

OMG The rosettes, the giant bow, the color.  Seriously, I love everything about them.  Not only did I purchase these bloomers but I also purchased a matching headband and shoes!  The quality of the material is great and very professionally sewn.  From my experience rosette fabric is a huge pain to sew and you would never know that from the craftsmanship Lauren puts into making these.

I am telling you that EVERYTHING in her store is beautiful and amazing.  Please make sure to check out Baby Squishy Cheeks on Facebook and Etsy!

So guess what!  Lauren has graciously offered one of my awesome readers a pair of these adorable rosette bloomers!  Enter the giveaway using the rafflecopter below!

Spring Fun with Grammy and Papa

Last week Jen went out of town which mean the kids got to spend 3 days with grandma and grandpa while I worked.  Boy did they have a great time!

First sandbox fun of the year!  Baby apparently cried right after this photo because she got dirty...definitely my child.

Loving the swing.  Circa 1990 (this was my sisters swing!)

Awe my kids are just so damn cute!

“I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Pull-Ups. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.”

So here we are about a month into night time potty training and it has been a woozy.  The first steps for us were to ditch the night time water, create a new routine and really reinforce our incentive (Disneyland)!

The night time water is a battle.  He asks every single night and we have given in a couple times but most of the time we stick to our guns.  Creating a new routine was made super easy by Pull-ups® Big Kid App! The Night*Time Checklist was super easy to use and add our normal routine stuff too as well.  What Eyan really loves is the star rewards that he earns for each night and nap he is dry.  He uses the star rewards to purchase games and each night I give him 5 minutes on my phone to play those games.  This app has been great for us and so much easier then remembering to put a sticker on a chart.  He always remembers his games and has been working hard to earn those stars!

#CelebrateFirstFlush #Pullups #MC #Sponsored

Eyan also loves the Pull-Ups® Disney designs and glow in the dark feature!  Each night we pick out our favorite character and put them in the light while we bathe and brush our teeth.  The fit is wonderful and we particularly like that the sides are easy release so that if they are wet, Eyan can take them off by himself.  They fit very much like underwear and are not bulky like other brands we have tried.

This journey is far from done and we are still fighting this night time training fight but Pull-Ups® has been such a huge help and with luck and the Big Kid App I am confident that we will have this down within the month!

To begin your journey or reinforce it, visit the Pull-Ups® website, visit them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter!

Emberlynns Scrapbook

I am a true fan of old school scrap booking.  I really just love the look and feel of them.  I love the creativity and personal touches I can put into them.  In about 3 weeks I put together ALL of Emberlynn's first year in a 50+ page scrapbook.  It captures all her major moments and highlights every month of her life.  To take a picture of each page and put them into a post would take a REALLY long time, so I am highlighting a few of my favorites!

I love the real scrapbook feel with the tickets and stickers and ribbons!

I love journaling in my babies books.  I hope they will look through these one day and love the time I put into these.

I truly enjoy making each page unique and watching my baby grow.  I just cannot believe it has been a year!

Colgate® Optic White™ Toothbrush + Built-In Whitening Pen {Review}

Colgate Optic White Toothbrush + Built-In Whitening Pen

Once again I received an awesome product from Influenster to test and review.  I am a huge fan of Colgate and was super stoked to try out their new toothbrush with a whitening pen.  I tested this product for 2 full weeks and the results were pretty awesome.

Basics of use, brush your teeth as you normally would, rinse and then use the whitening pen from the bottom of the tooth brush and rub it on your teeth.  I really love the toothbrush.  It is pretty awesome and feels like a massage.

Overall, the Colgate Optic White Toothbrush with a Built-in Whitening Pen is pretty awesome and the results rock.  Just use as directed and #BrushWhitenGo!

Disclosure: I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Emberlynn's 1st Birthday party!

We did it!  We made it to ONE and had a fantastic party with our amazing family and friends who we cannot thank and cherish enough.  I kinda slacked on the photo front, but I did snap some!
The Birthday Outfit!  Krista Haffner Photography did a fantastic job again on the photos!
My friend Barbie with Sweet Pea a la Mode rocked her onesie!!! EEEK!
The Decor!
Remember this post where I posted my hopes and dreams of decor for this party?  Well I did it and didn't hardly sleep!  I utilized my Cricut machine and basically made most of the decorations with that and a sticker maker machine too!  I love the Cricut craft room where you can download digital cartridges and organize your design on your mat prior to cutting to make sure you get the most out of your paper.  The only unfinished picture above is the elephant headband, which I added eyeballs too and you can see in the picture of her birthday outfit above.  Otherwise everything else was made with paper, and ribbon and some serious gluing skills.  If you want a tutorial, please leave a comment and I will get you one!

The birthday table spread!  I made favor bags and a cake stand and put a photo of Emmi from her 1 year shoot as well as her FINISHED scrapbook of the first year.  Yeah the scrapbook is a whole 'nother post!

Baby peanut enjoying her party.  Yes we had it at our families skating rink!
The Cakes!
Can I tell you just how excited I was for the cake.  I found a few images on Pinterest of cakes and sent them to my friend Annie with Paynefully Delicious Cakes and she made magic happen!  She made 2 smash cakes.  The green one was for the photoshoot and the ombre one was for the party.  Seriously so affordable and DELICIOUS!  The bottom cake was courtesy of Target because well we kinda forgot about our guests (sorry folks) and had to order quickly.

The Cake Smash!
Let's just say this was not exactly how I expected this to go.  During her photoshoot she ate that cake...it was slow but she ate it.  During her party she wanted nothing to do with the cake.  She just wanted her mommy and literally barely touched the cake.  I think part of it had to do with the fact that I yelled to get everyones attention and that scared her and was immediately followed by the birthday song.  Ehhh whatever, we tried.

The Presents!
We had well over 70 people at Emberlynn's first birthday party.  In no way was I going to open all those gifts in a 2 hour time frame.  No I will not torture our guests with a fussy baby who loses interest quickly and throws tantrums that would rival a honey badger.  So we did them the next day.  I have tons of photos of present time, but here a couple of my favorites.  Ember LOVES Minnie Mouse and was all about kissing her stuffed Minnie.  Oh and then the diamond earrings.  Yeah, thanks grandma and grandpa...I had to wait 18 years for my first real pair...way to set her expectations high...ok just kidding, I love you (oh and BTW, my mom definitely did NOT pay $400.00)!

Let There Be Milk

Birth Songs Botanicals Let there be milk #Review

We made it to a year!  If you would have asked me about my expectations with nursing this time last year, I would have said "my goal is a year but I will be happy with 9 months."  Can I tell you what a lie that statement was?  I wanted so badly to make it to one year and around 9 months ironically my supply took a large dip and my body was struggling to keep up with the demand the littlest peanut was putting on me.

I tried pretty much everything to increase my supply especially after the failure to thrive diagnosis.  So I was ELATED when Rochelle at Birth Song Botanicals contacted me to review their "Let There Be Milk" tincture.

The packaging was beautiful and I loved the little touches of the sweet thank you note on the back of the business card as well as the magnet and of course the cute little bottle of "Let There Be Milk!"

Birth Songs Botanicals Let there be milk #Review

So after adoring the wonderful packaging, I immediately jumped into taking it, there was no time to lose! Initially I followed the directions and took 20 drops.  I placed them in a shot glass (classy folks!) and downed it quickly.  Whew that was a bit of a surprise.  The taste was fine initially but I definitely had to chase it with a glass of water because the aftertaste was a bit bitter.  After that first time, I filled the shot glass 1/2 full with water and then placed the 20 drops in and took it that way.  It was MUCH better with water.  I took it three times a day and it took about 3 days to take effect.  Once it did take effect though, it was like the early days of nursing.  I was waking up engorged and needing relief, and little peanut was completely satisfied.

I was even able to build a stash for our Vegas trip!
As we are nearing the end of our nursing time, I am sad but I cannot thank Birth Songs Botanicals enough for this awesome tincture which helped me reach my goal of nothing but mama's milk for her first year!

Birth Songs Botanicals provided me with the tincture for free for review.  All opinions are my own.

Happy 1st Birthday Emberlynn Rose

My dear baby girl,

The day is here and just like the day of your birth, it is bittersweet.  I say that because I still miss you kicking and rolling around in my belly with hiccups but I am loving the beautiful, smart, silly little girl you are becoming.  The gift of being your mother never escapes my mind and even in those nights and moments where you can be frustrating (and you can be!), I am always so thankful that I at least get those moments.  I have loved every moment of being your mom.  Dressing you up is one of my favorites and although your daddy gives me crap, I just love coordinating bows and shoes and earrings with your outfit.  This one area scared the heck out of me, but honestly kid, I am kinda rocking it...and so are you!

You are such a good sleeper and eater.  No seriously for such a small person you throw food down like a teenage boy and are scouting out your next meal mid bite.  As far as sleep goes, you still have your moments, but you are nothing like your brother.  You enjoy sleeping at night and so do I...lets keep this up.

You love your brother and light up when he comes to get you from a nap or brings a toy to you or feeds you something.  You follow him around and have figured out the stairs because you know he can get up those fast to get away.  You are getting fast though and starting to stand so I know you will catch him soon.

You are still so tiny.  We get your official weight and height done today but from my guess you are just around 15lbs and still wearing size 1 diapers and 6 month clothing.  We tried size 2 diapers this past weekend, and you are still a bit too small for them.  So size 1 at ONE...crazy!

I have so many amazing plans for your birthday and you are so loved.  You have no clue the amount of people who just adore you and cannot wait to celebrate with you.  The family that we created with our biological family and our amazing friends is beautiful and sharing you with them is a complete joy!

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl
