In our life, exhaustion is a normal, but creativity is plentiful. Life is a beautiful mess of work hard, play hard and do so with a youthful energetic love.
We returned from Mexico on Friday to the fantastic chaos of home. Our son had finished his first T-ball game, our dogs were at the boarding place (one with an injury), our house was clean (because I refuse to vacation without a clean home) and our yard was a disaster. My husband was devastated. This man puts countless hours into our outdoor areas, and even has mini competitions with the neighbors to see who has the greenest lawns or the prettiest flowers. While on vacation a massive storm came through and decimated our neighborhood and everything he had worked to make beautiful. We actually have an insurance adjuster coming because it appears that we have siding, roof and concrete damage now as well as some sinking issues from this storm.
My husband is stressed and has been working in the 100º heat to do his best to get everything back to being as aesthetically pleasing as possible. I decided with Father's Day coming up, and with all the work he has been doing since we returned from our trip, that I needed to do something for him that could elevate his energy and feed his appetite to be inspired.
You see my husband is passionate about a lot of things, but the three main things outside of his family are motorcycles, fishing and his yard. My curious, tinker of a man needs a little gift to inspire him to continue pushing through the stress and create more beauty. I decided to combine a few of his favorite things and make a Father's Day gift that he won't forget.
First, I grabbed some essentials. A 5 gallon bucket (and lid), a collapsable fishing rod, some fishing bait, a complete tackle box, a bungee cord and for the boost of energy, a SToK™Cold Brew Iced Coffee.
Next I decorated the bucket with some crafting stickers and stuffed the bucket full of the fishing supplies. I think the bucket will be great to put the fish in that he catches, and make it easier for him to bring them home. All the tackle and supplies could also be put in his saddle bags after the fish are caught.
Then I prepped his bike to make sure that the fishing kit would fit nicely. I also shined up his chrome a bit! Can you see how bare the stems of our plants are? The leaves were just chewed up in the storm.
Finally using some bungee cords, I secured the bucket to the back of the bike (make sure to secure the lid to the bucket prior to riding), ready to send the husband off for an afternoon of quiet fishing on his motorcycle so he can come back inspired and ready to take on the stresses of our home and yard fixes.
I have not given this to him yet, and did all of this while he was out the other day, so I do not have a picture of him with the items, but I cannot wait to see his face on Father's Day! He is going to flip with excitement. Literally, he might flip!
SToK™ Coffee was a no-brainer to add into the fishing kit. It is also available at Walmart which made my shopping trip for the fishing kit so much easier. I popped over to the outdoors area and grabbed the fishing kit items and then over to the grocery section and grabbed the SToK™. In and out in 15 minutes!
The husband enjoys having coffee while he fishes and has become a huge fan of iced coffee. What I like about SToK™ Iced Coffee is that it is geeked out, creative and off beat in the best possible way. With a 10-hour brew, it has a bold and strong flavor that goes down smooth. SToK™ is by far my husbands favorite ice coffee because of this. It gives him that energy to help him create an endless stream of inspiration.
I am on pins and needles waiting for Father's Day! What gift are you getting the man in your life?
